Postdoctoral Trainee Position Available at UNC-Chapel Hill

Postdoctoral Trainee in Aerosol Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Laboratory of William D. Bennett, PhD

The postdoctoral trainee will conduct independent and collaborative research related to particle deposition and clearance in the healthy and diseased lung. In particular he/she will generate radioaerosols for measurements of in-vivo regional particle deposition and mucociliary clearance by gamma scintigraphy in patients with lung disease (e.g. cystic fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, and asthma) and healthy controls.

Studies will generally focus on therapeutic interventions to improve mucociliary function in these patients. Other imaging modalities, e.g. PET and MRI, may also be used/developed to enhance understanding of these processes. A description of our lab and recent studies can be found at http://www.med.unc.edu/cemalb/mucociliary-clearance.

Finally, he/she will be expected to present the results of these studies as manuscripts and at scientific meetings.
