Dr. Laleh Golshahi received her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Alberta in 2012, with a focus on the use of in vitro methods to characterize intersubject variability in the nasal and oral airway dimensions and the respiratory deposition of inhaled aerosol. In 2014, after postdoctoral appointment in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), she became an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at VCU. She is the founder and director of Respiratory Aerosol Research and Educational (RARE) laboratory at VCU, where she focuses on novel usages of in vitro models in advancing the performance and safety of pediatric aerosol therapy and respiratory support, nasal drug delivery and environmental exposure protection.
